Is the EBS elk system cost-effective?
When taking all the benefits of the system into consideration it is a more cost effective solution than traditional building. It is faster, meaning less time on site. Our system is normally 35-40% of total build costs – a fixed price with no price-creep!
Is the product approved by banks and building societies for lending purposes?
Yes we have full Building Control approval and we have a Design Type 10 year approval from Premier Guarantee (with other warranty providers to follow) which is accepted by the Council of Mortgage lenders.
How long do the buildings last?
The minimum expected lifespan of our buildings is 60 plus years – no different from traditionally built properties.
What is the maximum height you can build to?
We can build up to 5 storeys from a ground floor slab or higher with a transfer slab.
Is it as good as traditional build?
We currently exceed all the new Part L building regulations for building performance and so we believe that it is. Also every building component goes through a rigorous checking programme in the factory ensuring that a very high quality product is produced which is much harder to do in the traditional build environment.
Factory manufacture means the buildings are square – less cracking, less snagging, better finishes and much easier and faster for subcontractors during the fit-out period.
Is it quicker?
It is very quick to build because all the hard work has already been done in the factory. For example we are saving 22 weeks on a project for 77 flats when compared against a traditional build programme.
The fit out is quicker too because the building is warm, clean and clear, meaning sub contractors can rely on the programme. Increasingly we are building more components into the factory process – pumps, manifolds and first fix plumbing for example.
What do the buildings look like?
That depends on you and your planning permission. They look however YOU want them to look. We do not sell from a catalogue of buildings. We build the buildings you want.

How long does it take for my building to arrive after I have placed the order?
The buildings will arrive on site 8-10 weeks after the building contract is signed.
Can EBS elk supply anything else other than the structure?
Yes we can do a turnkey build project and we also provide design consultancy to optimise your building from the pre-planning stage.
We also advise on the most efficient technologies to use e.g. heating systems, solar panels, heat pumps.
